THE NEW BUSINESS tourism show, IMEX America (International Meetings and Events Exhibition) got some local support when they held a meeting in Las Vegas recently.
Targeting the lucrative MICE (Meetings, Incentive, Conferences and Events) industry, the three-day show attracted almost 2,000 influential business tourism buyers and decision-makers from around the world, offering important networking opportunities for the participating Irish tourism operators. Among them were Deirdre O’Brien of Carton House, Maynooth and Gillian Griffin from The K Club, Straffan.
Tourism Ireland has a busy programme of activity in place right throughout 2011, to grow business tourism from the US and other key markets around the world. A number of high profile events, promotions and sales blitzes are taking place, highlighting ease of access, the great facilities and good value rates available for meetings and conferences here, and getting the island of Ireland known for excellence in business support.
