THE BODY of a Polish man was found at an ESB substation in Naas yesterday morning. It is believed the man may have lost his life as a result of accidental electrocution.
Gardai received a call shortly before 5am (2nd February) when the discovery was made at the station at Maudlins Cross, Naas. It is unclear why the man was in the building at the time.
The body of the man was taken to the mortuary at Naas General Hospital where a post-mortem is expected to take place. The man is thought to have lived locally.
The substation is on the site of a disused factory formerly run by Magma Donnelly, a car mirror plant on the Dublin Road, which has been idle since the company moved operations in 2008. With an ESB 10KV substation now contained within, the public is warned not to go near the site.
Gardai at Naas Gardai Station are conducting an investigation into the matter.
