TWO men were slashed with a glass bottle on Saturday night after being out for the night.
It is alleged that the two youngsters who are 19 and 20 years of age, were walking toward Popular Square in Naas when they were assaulted. Having met two other men, it is thought an altercation broke out and the two suffered a number of stab wounds from the bottle. The two were taken to Naas General Hospital.
One of the men is said to have received “six or seven” stab wounds and required a “large number” of stitches.
Two men are currently being held for questioning in relation to the incident at Naas Garda Station.
One of the victims has since been released from hospital, though it is understood the other man is still receiving treatment. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Naas gardai on 045 884 300.
