A SUPERMARKET was held up on Sunday night and the store manager forced into her office at gunpoint to empty the safe, where the two masked raiders learned it was in fact on a time-lock.
Staff in SuperValue, Clane got the shock of their lives as two men entered the store at 8.45pm on Sunday evening wielding a sawn-off shot gun and a hand gun. With only one customer in store at the time, luckily customer and staff escaped from the hold up unharmed.
“The men spoke with strong Dublin accents. They were wearing balaclavas, wetsuits, and gloves,” a local garda says.
On failing to get any money from the safe, the two then proceeded to empty the tills before making their getaway. The two are believed to have made their escape in a two door blue Toyota Corolla hatchback, though it is unclear what direction they drove in.
Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious is asked to contact Naas Garda Station on 045 884 300.
