Kildare 2-12
Westmeath 1-9
Celebrations greeted fans of Kildare Minor hurling at the weekend, when they had a fantastic win over Westmeath.
The match did not look very promising to start with but Kildare soon found their feet and it was not long before they caught up and surpassed their opponents.
With two points in quick succession in the early part of the match, the game really began for Kildare and while it was a tough battle, they managed to steal ahead winning with a goal and three point lead.
A great save by captain and goalie Sean Whelan in the 60th minute solidified their position and some tactical hurling ensued to clinch the victory.
