Scoring top marks in the leaving certificate is almost unheard of but this year, Kildare showed it’s up to the challenge with three students scoring the maximum 600 points in the exam.

The shining results came from St Mary’s School in Naas, CBS Naas and Leinster Senior School.

Caoimhe O’Leary who attended St Mary’s said: “I can’t believe it, I’m in shock. I wasn’t expecting it at all,” Caoimhe is hoping to study Pharmacy in Trinity.

Caoimhe is likely to rub shoulders with Eoin Quigley when she hits for Trinity. Eoin, who hails from the Leinster Senior School also reached the 600 mark. “It was a lot of hard work. Looking back it was worth it and I’m really happy with the result.” Eoin is planning on studying medicine in Trinity.
