Calling all young artists

County Kildare Twinning Committee is sponsoring a Secondary Schools Art Competition which will pitch the winner against artists from across the U.S.A, Europe, Russia, and all Asia.

The theme of this International Competition is ” A Reflection of your Community ” and it is organised internationally by the Sister Cities International Commission. This is an international Organisation that was set up to promote better understanding between people of vastly differing cultures,  to try to bring harmony and peace across the globe. The County Twinning Committee is associated with Sister Cities.

The winning entry from County Kildare Secondary schools will go to Lexington in Kentucky where the final judging will take place and the winning entries will be on a special display at the Sister Cities International Conference in Kansas City, MO. later this year.
 
This is a great opportunity for an aspiring young artist from County Kildare to put a first foot on the ladder to international fame.

The Closing Date for entries to the County Kildare Competition will be Friday 22nd February 2008. and the canvas should be no larger that 24″ x30″ ( 60 x 75 cm )
Entries can be in Oils, Pastels, Pen & Ink, Charcoal, Photography, 2D Mixed Media or CG.
 
County winners will get €200 for 1st., €150 2nd., and €100 3rd. Winning school will get Art Supplies.

Further and similar Prizes will be awarded foe the International Competition for which the County Winner will Compete.
